Agreed, some students may not volunteer the harmful info that keeps them from getting hired. Desperate people can make bad choices.
Looking for a little advice.

Sure, but at the application point, there should be a disclosure:
IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN CONVINCED OF THE FOLLOWING.......IN THE LAST......YEARS, YOUR CHANCES OF BEING EMPLOYED ARE VERY SLIM.Numb and Mitchstock Thank this. -
That would be like requiring Budweiser to put on their cans: "warning, this product may cause you to do stupid #### that you will regret for the rest of your life"
Numb, Opus, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this. -
Well.....maybe they should, goldangit!
Opus, Grouch and Mitchstock Thank this. -
They have that on ciggarettes and im still smoking...
That said the only reason i currently regret it is the taxes they keep ratcheting up on them. #### expensive habit nowOpus Thanks this. -
Heh, I look at the prices now a days and laugh. I got a CARTON of smokes at the commissary in Germany in 76 (I think?) for $1.70. Yeah, 17 cents a pack. I quit smoking in the late 80s and put the 60 cents a day I was spending then into a life insurance policy. Cashed that in about 15-10 years ago for 80 grand.OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

I think he already knew ahead of time when he before he even got a CDL that no one‘s going to hire a convict like that. I don’t know why he didn’t do his research before even trying to get a CDL. He also have an assault charges. I don’t know. Sounds like a hothead to me , short temper not good.

I am honestly a little confused here .. I have literally been in trouble one time almost 12 years ago . Hot head and short tempered ? Far from it . And as far as research, literally anywhere you look says that truck driver is amongst the top 10 highest paying careers for convicted felons . All I asked for was genuine advice on the matter .. thank you for your very judgemental opinion though -
They are not the best company in the world, but Western Express is known to be a second chance company, giving former felons second chances. You might give them a call.
The trafficking charge hurts cause they look at it now that you have an even better opportunity to traffic, on a much larger scale, since you have access to trucks.
No judgements on my end, we all have our skeletons. Good luck in your job search. -
Your chances of getting in to the profession are better if you look at smaller companies that aren't picky about your background vs. Bigger companies that are.
Local work vs. Long haul.Mitchstock and Bonita Nut Thank this.
