Riding Bikes

My home area here in NW Arkansas. My ancestors roamed these hills since late 1840's. Shores Lake overlook.

 

Neighbor kid just got back from doing the Benton-area MTB trails. Raved about it. I sold him my Tricross, so he can get into the gravel thing.

I saw Rogers has an amazing BMX/activity park that recently opened, called The Railyard. They’ve done it right, by having a pavilion, restaurant, nearby water park, etc. These places have to be multifunctional to be justifiable to city councils and relevant to residents. There needs to always be stuff going on, to keep funding constantly rolling in. Kudos to Arkansas communities embracing bike life.

 

Short 4.5 mile ride last night around our local MB trail last night. Muscle memory is definitely lacking for a true MB trail, but only ate dirt once.

 

I rode an easy 14mi, in cool winds, this afternoon. I’m an idiot and made every excuse to NOT ride, last weekend. I had three days to go out and enjoy it, but, didn’t. Today, sure made me regret not getting out. Sadly, crops are about to come out, which means there will be no more windbreak. I gotta’ be more disciplined.

I’m still loving the new bike. I added PDW fenders, since the last post. Without a doubt, they’re the nicest, everyday fenders on the market. They’ll keep the road oil, grit, etc, out of my drivetrain and off my legs.

 

Dusted off my Kona for the first time in 2 years. Aired up the fork, shock, tires and seat post. If the weather's good I think I'll take it out to some trails tomorrow.

 

About 10 or 12 miles today along with some fishin. Parked at the 30mm on 90 just west of St Regis. Lots of elevation. Headed to Cle Elum for the night. Gonna knock out that miners trail there and do lunch in Roslyn.

 

Short ride tonight in Conner, MT

 

Had a few long days at the end of the week, so no rides. Got a 4.5 mile run in yesterday, and finished today with enough time for another short ride. 30 minutes of excercise nonetheless.

A few fuzzy and slithering things along the way.

 

That’d be an amazing ride. Get after it!

I’m past camping. The cost of motels won’t be remembered, when I‘m dead. Haha.
