Oof. I didn't realize the nearest terminal was that far away from where you live. My bad.

Check with churches in the area. We have let drivers use out lot before.GelatoJP Thanks this.

I don't see how this is YOUR problem. TMC should be doing the legwork, and footing the bill. (See what I did there?) Megas usually have spots all over where they can direct you to. I know when I worked at Stevens and Melton they paid for the parking. If they didn't, and their equipment got jacked, then it's on them. I believe it's on them regardless. I remember Stevens wouldn't let me take the truck home. They made me look for a yard or they directed me to one. They paid however. Melton would let me park the tractor at home if I wanted. But they paid for the trailer to be parked.GelatoJP and silverspur Thank this.

I only worked for company with nearby terminal where I parked the truck. Company can do maintenance while I'm at home instead of me babysitting the truck for no money getting maintenance at some distant truck stop.Last edited: Sep 23, 2023

Talk to people who have space, like maybe behind the supermarket? Or maybe an abandoned gas station, or vacant warehouse? An old strip mall where only 1 store is still in business?

that's what I did. no more than an hour awaytscottme Thanks this.

I own a house in a rural county. I have a long driveway that could easily fit the tractor but definitely not the trailer.tscottme Thanks this. -
Very good idea. There is one down the street from me. Thanx!

Look at the county and city ordinances regarding truck parking. Just because other people do it nearby, that doesn't mean it's ok. All it takes is for one person to complain, and then you'll need to find another place to park. You can be the most considerate person and do everything you can to not be a nuisance, but it is not enough for some people.
