It comes down to the driver, theres reason's drivers goto Western, good or bad, but it's up to the driver to decide when a load is properly secured and tarped. The Western Training videos are bad, but that does not take the place of hands on. I really wasw not trained on tarping, I examined how other drivers did it and what seem to work. Theres things I still don't get overall , such as I really dont care for tarp cord, I would rather use bungies, alot of it is personal preference. Now folding the took a bid to figure out on my own, how there are really good videos, I sugggest to new drivers go watch them even if there made by a different company. You can learn from all of them, now days you dont have to invent the wheel, just decide which one works best for you. Like I almost alway strap the ends and the middle joint just to keep the air out, is there better ways, probably when I run in to it I will give it a try. But my tarps don't look like sails going down the road.

I never liked the rope either.

A lot of guys were good with it though.

Folding is easy. Take one side and fold it to the halfway point. Do it again. Then do the other side. Then fold one side on top of the other. Then take the bottom and walk it to 2 feet of the top. Or whatever your preference is. And start at the bottom again and roll her up good and tight.
