    Hello everybody,
I have been talking to a FedEx CC recruiter (wow, that sounds bad right from the start) and am thinking about putting a tractor on with them along with hiring a driver or team to run it.

Are there any current or recent O/O or fleet owners on this board that were working expedited freight or FedEx specifically? Would appreciate any insights or advice.

why not drive it yourself first and see how you like running for them? If they suck and you put some guy in the truck and hes constantly whining and moaning to you, you're just going to assume that he's lazy, etc. But if you've actually been there and done that then you know what its like to be in his shoes.

Also, this is an expedited company. It kind of needs a team..

Appreciate the thoughts phroziac. I intend to run for myself at the start of anything I do for just the reasons you point out. I know this will sound utterly insane but I am not putting a truck out there to make me boat loads of $$$$$$$. I am putting a truck out solely to run a small business.

I also agree with you that a team will likely be smartest if running expedited. Whatever I end up doing I want the drivers to earn a living, the truck to make a little money, me to have the business to work, .... peace to break out in the world, cats and dogs to live in harmony, world hunger to end, .............. whoa, got a little carried away there. hahahaha :biggrin_25523:

Contracted to CC. You definitely need to run it yourself, unless you are used to dealing with expedited freight, just so you can inform your driver of how to run the truck. You can make a very decent living, but you have to be selective. Also, a husband/wife team will be your best bet, because there is quite a bit of sitting involved. We are adding some trucks later this year. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be!
