We are looking to arrive on Tuesday morning so Im checking our atlas, google, trucker path and now you guys. Times are always deceptive because of grades and construction and GPSs that think we will be going the speed limit when we are governed at 65mph.
Heres a few choices, which (if any) would you experienced truckers take?

That's a good route. Not sure if they are still doing all the construction through the gorge on 40 in NC but if so, I'd definitely eat the WV tolls and run the highlighted trip you have...
Flat Earth Trucker, 4mer trucker, Suspect Zero and 1 other person Thank this. -
I thought as much. With the highlighted route We will be hitting 64 and 77 at night and they look to be up-down and curvy. thats ok though because my wife drives at nightJonJon78 Thanks this. -

[QUOTE="JonJon78, post: 12578077, member: 219594"... Soon as you cross into WV from Ohio it will go into a 2 lane road, she may have people riding her butt but it only last 10 miles then splits off to the interstate.
That stretch of 35 is open and 4 lane down to I-64 -
We may leave early so that she drives the Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio at night, and I’ll drive the rest of the way during the day. Get a good nights sleep, and deliver in the morning.

US-35 is pretty smooth too. I live in Illinois and have taken that way many times to NC. There is some construction still going on between Indianapolis and Dayton I think…
Nahbrown Thanks this. -

So we got a 2-fer! 2 trips to North Carolina this week from Davenport Ia.
We left Monday, delivered Tuesday morning, reloaded and drove back to Davenport. Now we are already back in West Virginia as my wife gets her first taste of the WV mountains at night.
BTW - is there anywhere in WV that is flat? Holy smokes this place is up and down,
