The thing I liked the most was detention pay on the food grade loads. If we showed up and they didn’t have room for the product we started getting detention pay at our appointment time, no free two hours.
We weren’t allowed on top of the trailers at any place we loaded, and at delivery there’s no reason to ever leave the ground.

You should absolutely go for it. The more valuable you are to the company, the less likely you will be laid off when times get slow.
Also, dry bulk is easy work. You just have to pay attention.Bud A., LTL Bull, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this. -
Go for it.
One time I delivered some rejected flour to a dairy. Just blew it out the rear pipe. Monitoring it. I got covered with Sourdough Flour.Bud A. Thanks this. -
Thank you so much guys for all the words of wisdom. Love this place. With that said , I am not going to do dry bulk. Will wait till next year for more stable switch to the tanker division. I sopke with couple of our tanker guys , and they are very happy.
