Just check in there first thing in the morning. you can park there overnight. And whenever they have your taters ready they'll load you. I've had that problem with Garrison before when I hauled their loads could never get anybody to answer the phone. Not sure why that is. Anytime you're on any of those potato loads and if you have any questions, just call the potato shed if they're open when you have the questions obviously. That's what I usually done. I always called grower shippers Blanca potato any of them just directly right straight through and that always worked out really well.

Been there, got denied, brought it back, got the tee shirt. Lol that is not a company that takes their job lightly, and they find no humor in the phrasing, “geez it’s just dog food. I’m sure it’ll be alright”. They have a location in Clinton OK that is equally as strict. However, it’s right across the street from a truck stop that has a wonderful hot deli kitchen so that takes the sting out.bryan21384 and dwells40 Thank this.

Well I'm getting paid to take it back to Kentucky and I'm going to unload and reload at the same place and take her back to Orangeburg South carolina. So heck far as I'm concerned they can reject it again on Thursday don't matter to me I get paid either way come on.bryan21384, dwells40, wulfman75 and 1 other person Thank this.

Haha Yep! Exactly! Thats how it was for me too I’d load mine in Anderson, MO, go to Orangeburg, they didn’t like it and take it right back to Anderson. Paid both ways and it didn’t hurt my feelings any!bryan21384, Professor No-Name and wulfman75 Thank this.

10-4 on that. I know some shippers want to go direct through the broker for security reasons, but I guess tater farmers are a little different than Pfizer lol. Made it here -- nice sized, well lit lot compared to the warehouses up in Center. Packaged taters is a nice bonus too. I hate delivering produce to Walmart since they're quick to reject an entire load for a single pallet with a defect. Should be safe compared to lettuce or watermelons though. A
I guess it's not possible to get rejected for a shifted pallet in that sector of trucking lol. Make sure you wave at home for me on your way through. I'll tell the ol' lady to bring you a freshly cracked can of hot and spicy Vienna Sausages.
Dang, you made it back from Colorado in a hurry lol. I still haven't been to Toledo or anywhere along 80 in Ohio since I've been here -- never though I'd say it, but I miss that toll road and 75 sometimes. I even oddly miss 294 a bit.bryan21384 and Professor No-Name Thank this. -
Professor pretty much summed up how it all works here. @Fireeater58 when you you're changing careers, are you looking to get started in trucking or do you have experience?Professor No-Name Thanks this.

We're they able to detect something non-consummable was.in your trailer? Or they simply didn't want that product?Professor No-Name Thanks this.

I actually never call the brokers unless they didn't give me the pickup number. Growers shipper is pretty quick....did ya make it there last night? If ya spent the night there, and started clock as soon as they loaded you, you should at least make to Wakeeny, KS.Professor No-Name and Thrasher28 Thank this.

Yessir, spent the night there and made it to Wakeeny. About to use my 30 for a shower and keep it rollin'. Will have 3:50 or so drive time after I finish up here. I always route 160/CO-10/CO-71/CO-96/287/US40 when coming from Pueblo or further south. I think it's a little quicker and a few miles shorter than their routing taking 50 to 287.
You end up getting lucky with that 24hr receiver?Last edited: Oct 4, 2023
