Kinda depends on what’s that dirty consists of in your personal vehicle.
@Chinatown @Moose1958 @Ridgeline -
I read, it depends on the nature of the offense(s). Generally, for minor offenses, companies have cut a lot of slack, but anything 30mph over the limit, revocation, DUI, or too many points, can lead to CDL suspension.
Can Traffic Tickets in a Personal Vehicle Lead to CDL Revocation? -
I have lost count of the number of drivers who have had career problems based on how they drive their POV. It frustrates me that drivers seem to not want to pay close attention to 383.51 and pay close attention to the fact those tables apply to violations in non-commercial vehicles as well. The primary problem is the insurance carriers. Ask fleet owners like @Ridgeline who really decides who operates his trucks. You do not have a driving record for CDL-required vehicles and another one for POVs. Several years ago I was speaking to a friend that was then working in the Crete Safety Dept. This person was waiting for a driver to return to a terminal so they could be told to clean out their truck because of excessive violations in their POV. I get to the point these days that I don't bother with warning new CDL holders to slow down and stay away from consuming ANY alcohol while operating their POVs. It is like talking to a brick wall, and then watching them start screaming when they get told to clean out their trucks because they are no longer considered a good insurance risk!
Then these same people come into these forums and get advice to fight all tickets. I agree you should, but some make this advice in such a way that makes it seem you as a driver can drive like a maniac and some street hustler moron with a law license can make it all go away. That is pure ( REDACTED)!pashaz, tscottme, Crude Truckin' and 3 others Thank this. -
Moose, just keep in mind you can’t fix stupid.
Some folks gotta learn the hard way and go through the process to get it crammed into their skull bucket.RockinChair, tscottme, Crude Truckin' and 1 other person Thank this. -
15 mph over the speed limit is reckless driving. Even if it's in your private vehicle, it counts against your CDL.Wargames, tscottme and Crude Truckin' Thank this.

I second this……

You might actually be a better fit in NASCAR or Formula One.
Drive like there's no tomorrow -- then leave the regrets to the poets.

Thanks for the mention, I wish drivers would learn, that when the market tightens up, those who are with marginal driving records are not going to find jobs.
My three highest expenses are driver's pay, fuel, and insurance - plus related costs. Insurance dictates all of this.
I tell an applicant to tell me everything about their driving record before I or worse, my insurance company find out.
I can mitigate any issues I would have with the insurance company IF I know about them BEFORE they find out.Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
Those surprises are never fun to encounter.
It’ll never amaze me that drivers even think they’ll be able to hide something like that…Crude Truckin' Thanks this.
