Personally I always thought Loves had the best showers. You still get a free shower for 50 gals, right? Its good for a week, right? (Im asking because I havent stayed out overnight for over a year and havent been out for 3-4 years). I dont see an issue with how much a shower actually costs because Ive never had occasion to actually "buy" one...

Because they're in real deep on the brokerage side and not a reliable trustworthy kind of broker you'd want to partner with, and never really have been.

 

I spent nearly $1100 last year on showers. So the rise in price is an issue for some of us.

99% of the fuel I buy is from TA/Petro and they don't have the shower power deal like Loves and Pilot offer.

 

All you need to do to become an "ultra one" "member" is sign up. I fuel at TA Hudson Wi every week and get a shower credit (that I never use) every week. Cant for the life of me understand how you can spend 1100 on it...

UltraONE members earn an UltraCredit when fueling 60 gallons of fuel. Only one UltraCredit can be earned per transaction. One UltraCredit can be earned per day for Standard UltraONE members and two UltraCredits can be redeemed per day for Platinum UltraONE members. Standard UltraONE members can redeem UltraCredits for showers, with expiration after 7 days. Platinum UltraONE members can redeem for showers, with expiration after 10 days. Gear 1, 2 or 3 UltraONE members can redeem UltraCredits for showers only. Gear 4 and MAX Gear UltraONE members can redeem UltraCredits for showers, meals or parking.

 

Rough math he's paying for 2 showers a week. On average, I fuel 2.5 times per week. I prefer showering every day, so 5 per week (I'm home every weekend). Without "shower power" I would have a choice - fuel up more often, pay for showers, or go stinky. Before 'shower power', as a company driver, I always chose the first, often only putting in 50 gallons at a time to make sure I had shower credits (it also helped with my bonus metrics). As someone who is paying for the fuel, that's a losing strategy - I can easily see that increasing overall cost per gallon by at least 5 cents, probably closer to 10. Not to mention showers can be expensed out, helping come tax time.
