Thanks for the detailed info. I am scheduled for orientation, but I still have doubts if Werner is where I wanna be. I hear alot of stories about the alure of the sly recruiter. Also see alot of people leaving with negative experiences. I understand some were at fault, but all of them couldn't be IMO. The wife and I are gonna sit down and decide tomorrow on a final company.
I hope things pick up for your hubby and yall be safe!!

I will agree with them wanting to show off the miles in the beginning... lol Hubby went in as an experienced but was out of the industry for awhile so he still had to go out with a trainer for a few hours to 'refresh'. They still got to consider him a trainee to get the taxbreak and put him on the entry level pay...

Miles were good at first... then the truck started acting up... after that so did the miles... now so is the checking account. I know I sound like a whiney wife, but just frustrating is all. He is trying so hard to take care of it all and my job doesn't bring in alot... and lately his checks are matching mine.. lol It's been a fun joke to see whose will be bigger each Friday.red S-10 Thanks this. -
thanks for the info its going to make me look else where to.

Gator, from hubby's first time out and this time out, all I will say is really look into all companies because, yes recruiters lie. lol Hubby wasn't with Werner first time out. He talks with alot of drivers out there and stories get swapped and I can say this much, all big companies are going to tell you what you need and want to hear.

The most miles I ever had when I was training. I had I think 7500 for a month but once I wad by myself there was a few months I were I just made 4500 for the month and I never really used my hometime. But I also thought it could have been because I refused to get a passport, I also refused to do teams, and I wouldn't change to regional and it just seemed like my fleet manager just didn't want to bother with me.

i know the feeling i havent drove since 2004 and my last two employers when i drove was swift and usx. werner is the only right now that has any interest in me god help me

Werner is one of the best of the bottomfeeders. They do suck. The recruiters are sly. The only companies that dont have sly recruiters are the ones that dont have recruiters (real small companies).
But if you have less than a year experience or live somewhere without good freight, you gotta do what you gotta do unless you get lucky...
Nice thing about werner though, is if you've ever ever ever driven a truck before in your life, they'll hire you. -
hey gator did you decide on werner today, talked to my recruiter today going to orientation in atlanta on the 22nd

hey phroziac, hope to take a moment of your time my recruiter told me that i would be in the eastern division run al,ms,tn,fl,nc,sc,va,pa,ky and maryland and be out out every six days how true is this thanks for any info. be safe

I know everyone has said bad and some good about Werner, but i am about to start a dedicated DG run on the east coast with them. I don't mind the unloading of the rolltainers I've done it before, but how are they with their dedicated runs? Are they reliable? What can I expect out of them?
