Owning a business can be an excellent thing. Remember that those of us over 50 get to take advantage of the catch up clause and contribute more every year. IMG_0474.png

This is very true I knew I guy at my old job that was single no kids or deductions. We were talking pay checks one day and I would bring home alot more then him working only five days vs him working a sixth. I was like know wonder you hate six days, your working for free almost!

they guys paying a 3rd of his income into federal taxes that didnt even exist at the founding... not even taking into account all the other taxes like gas, estate, inflation tax etc. he makes 160 and ends with 70, if that. were 33.5 trillion in debt with no cuts in spending or interest rates because they can't without it falling apart...
if you think of it like that the whole threads a wash, it doesnt matter how much you make when the dollars worthless. were already downgraded to AA credit rating with negative outlook while brics and cbdc's are forming

ups has 500K employes they over-pay so they can give it all back to the government, it wouldnt suprise me if it's a calculated scheme because were a consumer spending based economy lol

thanks for your contribution though, we've identified 3 jobs over 130k

Your math is so far off. He doesn’t start with $160K and end with $70K. And he’s not paying 33% income tax. Your other comment stating he’s not doing much better than a guy making $120K is off, as well. You’re throwing all kinds of things out there which are untrue.

I don’t disagree with your thoughts on the obscene government spending and the failures of many of the officials. However, this country is NOT a joke. No other country on the planet has what we have. The place isn’t perfect, but it is NOT a joke. It took the effort of a lot of men and women to build this country into what it is, which is NOT a joke.

At the end of the day there is no answer that you can give this man that will satisfy he’s original question. But hey maybe he should move to Australia since he drives a holden. Then again he might complain about how long some of their road trains are!

I feel like you have a lot of answers as to what makes good money in trucking, yet you’re unwilling to to any of it. I feel like you want someone to come on this thread with a unicorn and say here’s a 150k a year job pulling a dry van a 100 miles a day, in a low cost of living state.

Just proved my point I could say I make 300k still wouldn’t matter because “it’s California”
California is a massive state and I don’t live in god forsaken LA. The internet can’t give you answers to everything. As far as how am I doing? Just fine thank you bought my house by 30 got two vehicles, travel trailer, boat, three kids and wife doesn’t have to work.
