Mack engines could tolerate lugging a little better than others, hence some of them having 5 speeds of all things.
Detroits on the other hand didn’t like it at all, even the 60’s.
24.5 or 22.5 tires, help me decide?

11r22.5 and 285/75 24.5 are both 41.8” IIRC, 12 22.5 is 42 and change and 11 24.5 is 44.1”, 295/75 22.5.s are about 40”, don’t remember
there’s a lot of 24.5s up here in the north east because everyone thinks you need them to haul 100k, though they do help with ground clearance
make sure you check 5th wheel height, i know 46k KW 8 bag and 11 24.5s puts the 5th wheel at 52”, I’m like 13’ 6.5” on the truck with 46s and 12 22.5s -
Don’t need them but they are nice to have……
