Hi folks. I'm Chris from Texas. I'm a newly separated Army Infantry veteran of 6 years with 3 tours in Iraq. I've been looking at several OTR companies to provide me with some training and get my career started if college doesn't pan out and I stumbled upon this forum when doing research. Needless to say, just in the past day or two, I have found tons of info on here (good and bad). I think I've narrowed my choices down to Roehl and Schneider. If any of yall have any input that would be great. I look forward to learning from you folks and talking to some of you.

Thanks! I can tell this site is well-moderated by your signature. I'm on a Dodge Cummins forum that has issues with different people posting over and over again about the same topic because no-one learns to use the search function and there are always issues with people getting banned or suspended for breaking simple rules. This seems like a great site with lots of great folks.

I'm by Ft Hood right now, originally from the RG Valley, but I don't really have a preference right now as to where to locate myself in the little time I will be off, as long as it's here in TX. I'll look into it, thanks!

    Thanks :biggrin_25519:

:salute::salute::salute: Many thanx for your service in the military, sir.
And a Star Spangled WELCOME to the forums.

Back in the day, I started my Big truck truck drivin' career with
Schneider, where I eventually became a driver trainer. Back then,
Schneider had an excellent program for former military members.
I don't know if they still do, but if so, if I were you, I'd check them
out. If nothing else, they're a good place to start. And they're not
like some of the other larger training truckin' companies that abuse their drivers.

Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck and the best of success.
