Very true. I do admire his change though I would suggest that he never touch it as he will be pulled in for random drug testing out here. I know people who pulled everytime their truck gets to a terminal and know people who seldom get tested. It is a random thing.

Wow some attitude here. So this was a one time "mistake"? I hope so. No not all truckers are saints I never said they were. I certainly do not want to be in front of a 40 ton truck with a driver who is high on any kind of drug. PS I'm a trucker also.mycorky Thanks this.

For Pennsy.357:
You must have had Steve for your evaluator. Sorry...and anger management would be good for him to attend!Last edited: Mar 14, 2010

I guess in a way I was lucky to have done my road test in Gary.

Very lucky, I wish I had my test in Gary, I'd still have a job with Roehl. Wouldn't had my balls busted like I did in Marshfield by an RDTC instructor, I know one driver who was tested in Gary and he didn't have to do the PTI because the instructor said it was to cold, lol. I had to point the A/C compressor on the truck, I'm like WTF, this wasn't required on the DOT test, fortanetly I'm a gear-head so I know my way around a combustible engine that I was able to point it out. I also had to point and explain why the rear axle on the drives is the parking brake in addition to the service brake whereas the front axle is only the service brake by pointing out the secondary air hose going into the brake chambers on the rear axle. That wasn't on the DOT test neither.
Mycorky, I got your PM, I'll have to forward a response via a mod. Thanks.mycorky Thanks this. -
I had to do a complete pre trip too. When another guy there just had to drive around town for 15 minutes. I'm just glad I didn't have Steve as an instructor during school.

Mr. Steve is a lower class JERK!
-
In Gary, I first had to explain what I would be looking for to make sure the trailer was in good condition. That was the extent of the PTI. I then had to do a 45% back. Then it was a short drive around Gary and back. After that was the written test. Steve was in training when I went to school. He was in my truck with my instructor Jason who was cool. He didn't give me the impression he would be a jerk. Boy I guess I was wrong. Wonder what crawled up his butt? I'm sorry that you and pennsy got a raw deal.

I am not at Roehl but have know Jason for many years...He is a good instructor and if the rest there are half as good as he is you will be in good hands...I got through my class A with a day of practice...Now back to the bus....
