no, he's right..
i too worked for a company that would charge the driver with a preventable.
reason being, YOU saw the deer crossing warning signs, and YOU should have been more careful
i told my stupidvisor, "well the deer is half at fault, for not reading the signs, and staying in the crosswalk"
i got a 3 days vacation, also known as a suspension for that remark, on top of the deer strike...
found a new job half way thru my first day off.

So........it's OK if you were driving in an area where there were no 'deer crossing' signs? And, by that logic, it's not OK to hit a deer, but, if it was a dog?.......SoulScream84 and okiedokie Thank this.

I heard a story from an old guy in northern MN. Up there it's well known you don't honk at a moose that's on the road. The story goes that a guy had just bought a brand new Oldsmobile. Sure enough, on his way home a moose was standing on the road. The new car owner got impatient and honked. The irritated moose started at the front of the car and took out the grill, radiator, ac cooler, part of the hood and then moved on to the left side of the car, except for the rear door and tires. It ruined the trunk lid and proceeded up the right side missing nothing. The insurance company totaled the car.SoulScream84 and Nahbrown Thank this.

And what does the DRU (Deer runners Union) have to say about this?

I had one try and jump my truck on I 90 south of Madison a couple years ago, Kinda saw it coming but didnt think he would keep running considering when he jumped he head planted into the middle of my sleeper and ended up on top of the load of lumber and finally rolled off the other side, ended up spraying blood all over the lumber, when I got to the delivery the guy sat there and stared at it and was like what the hell happened, I told him then he got mad I didn't save some back straps for him. I'm sure it was fun making pallets off of that load.

Exactly until I saw the tire picture I saw no hair or blood.. if any of you hit wildlife and see no hair or blood to take a picture of , Go back and see if animal is there for photographic proof..
