Pain pump

    18 years experience. Been out of the truck for a year recovering from transverse myelitis. I'm going to have a pain pump inserted and was wondering if that will disqualify me.

    Does anyone out there have one of these? I understand they are common

    Youve got 18 years in a truck, do you seriously think that having something injecting into your spinal column and being in a truck is wise?

    As for the disqualification, @ZVar or @Moose1958 might know, but i think the drug used will also be pertinent

    I had one for a bit, I won't get into why I don't now but you need to work with the examiner and your doc to make sure that you are cleared to return to drive. I could not drive no matter what but there was an assumption that I would and the doc I had handling the pain also was a DOT examiner and explained all I didn't ask for but thought I needed to know.

    Exactly. The meds are more important than how they are delivered. That said I can't think of any pain meds that would both be needing automatic regulation and be legal to drive on.
