Though the good points seem good, I just can’t fathom the idea of being out here for 8 weeks. After all these years out here, there’s nothing that can be put in this trailer that would have me live in this sardine can for 8 weeks at a time, whether it’s ping pong balls, or hearts and lungs for transplant.

I understand totally. Everyone is different for sure. For me, 8 weeks is a cake walk. I've stayed out way longer than that. On average I stay out 4 weeks at a time, but when I broke into the game, I was kind of conditioned to that idea of OTR trucking. For guys that are built for the road, that's a perfect setup

If it works for some that's great. You could offer me the moon but it's gonna be a long time if ever I go back to messing with grocery warehouses. But more power an props to those that wanna do it. Somebody's gotta.

Just curious, what about the horror stories we've all heard about K&B? Being woke up in the middle of your break, to swap trailers? Having the police do a check, because your phone is off when you're sleeping? Urban legend, or some truth?

You're right about that. For many, grocery warehouses equal misery. For me, it equals a 10 hr break lol. For the most part, my experiences at grocery warehouses haven't been as bad as most. I've had some forgettable ones, but I'd say it could be worse.

I got a question in the back of my mind. If you keep the same truck, you fly home, you fly back to the same truck. Where are you leaving the truck at for the ten days while you are on break. It is hard enough to find a spot to sleep for 10 hrs, but to get someone to allow you to leave a truck parked on their property for 10 days and then, does K & B provide transportation to and from the airport? Do airports have parking for trucks, I doubt if any does.

That is very rare but it does happen sometimes. Relays only take about 10 minutes so its really not a big deal to me. Now as for the police being called to check on drivers from what I've heard there was a driver who was never known to roll out late ended up sitting longer than he usually did. K&B tried calling and messaging on the Qualcomm to no avail. As a last resort the local police were called to do a wellness check and it turned out the driver had a stroke in his sleep and was unable to anything. K&B saved that mans life by calling the police but that's probably not the horror story you're looking for.

Can’t answer for all airports, but Denver International has oversized parking that will fit a tractor. They also use it for trucks to turn around in when taking the wrong turn off the toll road the airport is off. Ask me how I know…….

Otr company drivers with long out times not grossing 100k a year are being robbed IMHO.

You leave the truck at the K&B yard and they give a ride to the airport in Sioux City IA which is right across the river from them
