Newton is a real good stop. One of the few buffets I will eat at. And they change it all the time. Seafood one night, Italian the next, BBQ, etc. Great breakfast. Got to get there early if you want to park a lot of nights. But there are a lot of streets around that allow parking. Only problem I have is those #### circles when you exit. Been stretched out as long as 87' and it is some real tight maneuvering. Place is old but pretty darn reliable.

fifth wheel can kiss my booty. I paid $18 for an omelette there once! (meat lovers omelette with homefries and pop, ridiculously overpriced menu, surcharge for using american money)

The only real one I ever ran across was back in '96 or '97 while cutting across hwy 231 in Central AL.
I can't recall the name of it, but it was an old school place, complete with the 70s jukebox in the corner. Good groceries and most importantly reasonable prices. After looking thru my log books from that period, I can't find any reference to it.. I'm curious if it's still there... (probably not)

To finish the story, I was running a crew of drivers, we were all driving used school buses back to home base and one of the buses shredded the air pump belt. Turns out the old boy had a few belts in the closed portion of the shop, we found one that would work and when I asked him how much, he said- "Ahh, no charge, they've been laying there for a good while, I'm glad someone can use one of them, besides y'all ate dinner here, you put 6 hungry mouths in the restaurant."

It certainly wasn't the fanciest building, but the food was good and we got full service at the diesel pump.

Just like the Bainbridge Truck stop on 84, back then that was a good place to eat and they took good care of us everytime we came thru there.

Keep in mind this was 1996 & 1997, so I'm sure things have changed for the better or worse.
