First off, thanks everyine for the suggestions.
The Walmart DC isnt currently hiring drivers, but I will keep checking. Venezia is a company I have looked into, but the pay is not very good in my area. I am looking into the fuel haulers in my area, but from what I can tell the pay is in the 20-22 dollars per hour range. It seems that the only companies in my area paying in the $30+ range are food deliver companies. DCM, the supplier for Dunkin Donuts for exampke pays around $32 and change, and Im looking into that. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Regrettably -- your response here pretty much mirrors what I had mentioned earlier....:(

"Northern FL local mostly don't pay no good jack".......

Yeah, it certainly seems that way. I know the dirt haulers like cemex, venzia etc all pay around $20 an hour or equivalent, and energy dispatch pays around $24 from what I can tell. I'm not looking foward to having to haul boxes of food/drink down a metal ramp all day, but for almist 50% more pay Ill do it.

Away from Brooksville...but still in central FL -- I was surprised to learn how cheap some cryo bulk driver positions paid. Simply incredible.

My vote would be to check into that Energy Dispatch job further (if it's a decent commute for you); based on what I've seen elsewhere, it should pay overtime after 40 hours.

Once you get the hang of it -- that's actually fairly easy work (especially when compared to food service deliveries).

The Dunkin distributor in my area is called NDCP and they only use liftgates, no ramps. Still more hands on than LTL but way easier than typical foodersvice delivery work. It might be worth checking to see if the Florida distributor has the same setup.

Yeah NDCP, my bad. Im applying online. Ill wait and see though it does concern me that its a 4 day a week job. Im really looking for about 60 hours a week, at $30+ an hour with O/T over 40. It probably wont be easy to find but at least I have time.

BTW anyone know about JB Hunt local?

30$ an hour in Hernando county? You know as well as I do that’s not going to happen, you might, key word “might” find that in Tampa. Look at Odyssey tank in tampa, they haul chlorine for water treatment. I lived in brooksville for many years, early to mid 2000’s, there’s no real industry there for trucking aside from the mines, and like stated before venezia is there, but you’ve stated they don’t pay enough, so I wouldn’t even point you in the direction of CFT or any other rock haulers. Good luck.

Well. Im still looking. Only now I cant find anything at 25 or 30 even if I look as far out as Tampa. I did check odyssey, but they aren't hiring right now. I've put in apps with venezia, circle K, BTC, etc and Im waiting to hear back.

All LTLs in Tampa except for maybe Central and ABF are over $30/hr ($33-35/hr on average, I'd say). Most, if not all, also pay OT at some point (varies based on company - some after 8 hr/day, some after 45, 48, 50, etc. hr/week).
