Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

You are quite welcome....but who said/thinks you are dumb??
americantrucker01 Thanks this. -
Who accused you of being dumb? Not me.
However, trucking does require a certain lack of intelligence to keep on doing the same thing over and over, while expecting different results every time! You would think that after all these years and the hundreds of thousands of drivers that came before us, that we would have learned by now that TRUCKING SUCKS GREAT BIG DONKEY GENTIALS!!! -

truckerdave, I know MANY truck drivers who are QUITE intelligent.(and have more common sense than ANY politician!!! LOL)
And if you think this profession sucks so badly, WHY are you in it???Just wondering...

As I've posted before, it used to be fun and I used to make ALOT more money doing it. Now its all about me hanging on until the last of my kids move out so I wont have to pay for this big ### house and all their bills. Right now, I just can't afford to quit trucking for even 1 month to even apply for a different caterer, not to mention there are no jobs in my area. You know its bad when McDonald's closing a restaurant.
-
Why would you need to take a month off to apply for a different caterer?
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
It takes time to FIND to good employers ( they don't usually advertise, they don't need to), you need to be available if called for an interview, and then there is drug testing and any other pre-employment hoops to jump thru. So you see, it may require a good bit of time to find and get that better job.
-
It does take time, but it ain't like you have to be sitting at home waiting on that phone call.
Most employers don't expect you to be there 20 minutes after they call you for an interview.
What caterer do you currently drive for? The ones around here are strictly local.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Hey do you get much time to write on the road?
-
Sorry to jack the thread, but is there a introduce your self thread here or is it just jump in with both feet? I drove otr 32 years ago and moved on to a different job for the family time, but now with the lack of work in so many areas, Im going to drive again, got hired by swift and go out with a trainer driver for 42 days straight this coming tue, darn glad to have a job, any job, so save the swift slams for another day
Things have sure changed in this industry, wow, looking forward to getting to know you folks.
simplyred1962 Thanks this.
