How far back do trucking companies check criminal background?

Road test is tomorrow morning, so technically no.. with that said I'm feeling pretty confident. I guess Ill definitely know by tomorrow evening as I was told NY wont tell you if you pass at the actual exam.

Let's assume...for the sake of your discussion...that you do in fact pass your exam tomorrow....& you get your CDL.

I know that as I write this -- Roehl, TMC...& Schneider....are all hiring in your area of western NY state.

All of them have proven, time-tested training pgms for brand new CDL holders....like yourself.

If it's been 7 years since your last conviction -- & you have a clean driving record...I would apply to all three of them.

Each will probably have a different "cut off" period...for past criminal convictions.

Let us know here on the Forum how your test results go.

Personally -- I would not apply to the above until you have that CDL in hand.

Thank you for the leads and I will definitely look at those 3 tomorrow if I pass. I will also provide as much info as I can with my experiences in hopes that maybe I too can help someone else in my position. Again, thank you for the leads and response

Most CDL schools have recruiters that visit the class .

But don’t give up
Only reason I don’t have any record is because I just never got caught, before I decided to stop doing childish and stupid stuff .

I really appreciate all the feedback so far! I tried a couple Facebook groups and left them feeling empty with no direction. I also reached out to Maverick but they want 18 months of solid work history with 1 employer over the last 3 years, which honestly I don't have (hence the comment about spotty work history).. they basically shot me down and made me feel like I wasnt good enough. I'm glad to see I have other options!
