I believe the OP came into the industry to get paid, not pay for work.

Been with USX since January. I am new to trucking and have no experience to speak of. Went through orientation, training and have been teaming since January. Have had numerous issues since starting. Biggest issue that I can see is that there are too many chiefs and not enough indians. When you try to talk with someone about a problem you are directed to another person who then states; "you need to call someone else". They are nice to work with but I get the feeling they don't care who stays or quits.l..it's your choice. It may be this way everywhere in the industry? I am not a person to jump around from job to job but must admit I'm looking. I have never been introduced to a F/M and still don't know who my direct supervisor is?
On the bright side, I really do like the trucks! -
Does USX have apu's in their company trucks?
-
USX does not have APU's on there trucks. They don't want you to idle if the temerature is between 50 and 80 degrees.

Let's be clear, a bottom feeder is a driver who runs CB ch. 5 or 7. They are usually pulling a container heading to or from the harbor. There are however, exceptions to the rule....

You can net $100k at CR England but you'll have to get through that 1st year. Here's how it's done. Lease a truck that has a 1 yr. lease. After 6 months, take the certified trainers class. Start training the new drivers. It's not that hard, but it's not for everyone. When you complete the lease, you can get a Premier lease which has a much better return. I did it for several years and made a lot of money. Most of my students were good, so were great, and a few were terrible. You always have the ability to kick the student off the truck but that doesn't happen often.

That's good to know. My wife and I are thinking about going with USX. Getting use to a truck with a governor will be a challange, but my wife is new to trucking so I'll stick it out.

Not taking sides, but with CSA2010, it probly has alot more to do with why you didnt get hired, also combined with your past crime.
One of my students, years ago, had a felony. They pre-hired him. Got him to a terminal, and told him they couldnt hire him, and that he was on his own to get home. The guy, a friend of mine, called me. I was at a company sponsored rodeo at the OKC terminal, and 5 steps away from Patt Quinn (co-owner of USX). I went and had a talk to him. My friend did get hired, and was trained by me.
He was the best student I ever had. It helped he had driven a class B prior thou!
When CSA2010 goes in full effect, I see many drivers loosing their jobs. Far to many than the industry can support. Companys will be forced into hiring drivers with a less than perfect criminal history, just to fill a seat, just because he can pass the physical. -
