I have weighed my options and imho it is worth the my annual salary. Getting home each night, paid from the time I arrive and a 4000% return on my 401K stock holdings.
Yeah, I know everyone isn't getting the same benefits but currently the jobs aren't as plentiful as they were just a couple yrs ago.
And some don't have the experience, insight or contacts that some us us old timers have.
Also a lot of younger cats got a nut they have to meet each month and quitting without another gig ain't happening.
I'm seeing nearly as much commercial driver phone use as the 4 wheelers.
Really wouldn't surprise me in cameras became federally mandated sometime in the near future. Just last week 2 killed as the driver, preoccupied? didn't even brake before impact.

    Magoo1968 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Well it isn't about prevention in these cases, it is about blame.

This is why there are face cameras, I hate them, I have been fighting them and I know people would like that 3% reduction in insurance company for using them but I won't.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

The newest systems can monitor things 24/7 like eye movement and angle, etc. It’s gotten out of hand. And don’t forget if you have a smart pad type ELD system. These have built-in cameras on them and they can watch you through there anytime they want.

Good companies that hire good drivers don’t do this stuff. The company I work for is reasonably small, but has an impeccable safety record. They don’t utilize any of this stuff. No company is without incident, but we are among the lowest in the nation. And it’s because they hire safe drivers. It really is that simple. All the cameras and all the spying makes no difference if your company is hiring bad drivers.

IMG_1487.png I almost quit when they put a outward camera but gave it a try . I do NOTHING different than I did before . My only complaint is it not knowing the correct speed limit and tagging me as high risk when I’m actually under the real posted limit.
