    Anybody else see a spike in rates today? I book ahead these days but still look and do the "what if" scenario and reefer rates were up across the board in the midwest. It might have to do with winter finally arriving and all those perishables they could put on dry vans in spring and summer must go on reefers.

    No, it's just the last day of the month and some shippers/receivers need to move freight on this day for their bookkeeping

    Ah, yes makes sense. I was "lucky" enough one of the loads I preplanned canceled (of course it canceled 2 days ago and no one told us) and got to give partake in the fun but I'm sure it will be short lived.

    $20,000. Probably have people jump on it for $15. Budget rate they are looking for is probably 10.
