They couldn't make the new truck payments with these cheap rates.
Sad.Feedman, Siinman and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Sounds like they intentionally ran it into the ground. It used to be a joke at the Union Companies. When they’re ready to shut down, they buy all new equipment about a year before going out. My Dad drove for Transcon alias Trashcan. They had the junkiest old cracker box Freightliner cabovers. They bought all new Mack’s. My Dad said they’d be shutting down soon. Sure enough, about a year later, went to run his nightly bid run. Gates padlocked. That’s how they did it. Constantly denying all the rumors, right to the last day. Never any notice.

Thanks for that..
Haven't tracked prices for a bit, and not knowing specs, condition or miles 130 thousand doesn't sound unreasonable for a 2023.Rideandrepair, Feedman and dwells40 Thank this. -
What's the reason to buy new before going out of business? Tax right off and then pocket the money before filing the next year?SL3406, Rideandrepair and Feedman Thank this.

Do the math. $260k per operating unit. But they didn’t just start up so why would they need to finance that kind of money? They had been in business 35 years and didn’t suddenly expand.Siinman, Feedman and Rideandrepair Thank this.
