Some of these are local to KC and some are what I would consider “light heavy haul”.

As a former Sterett employee (crane operator/rigger/driver) I don't think they will be around much longer. Owner's son was killed in an auto accident in personal vehicle, but vehicle was under company insurance. About two years ago they killed a project manager after improper assembly of a large crawler crane came apart while lifting a million lb vessel at Wood River Refinery in IL. Millions in damages to refinery. Not alot of places are allowing them to work due to safety record. Wife of deceased project manager is suing them for everything...and rightly so, Wood River is also suing for damages and downtime at Refinery.Crude Truckin', REO6205 and kylefitzy Thank this.

Ain’t saying you’re wrong…. But sterret is far from the only company with issuesDouble-L Thanks this. -
No, your right on that. I know they recently filled for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and was informed this morning they changed their name from Sterett to Ascend. I currently work for Barnhart and our KY shop is literally less than a mile from their main office.stwik Thanks this.
