So what happened after my previous post topped what happened for me to write that post. Actually had a trainee shut the curtain and hit a blunt while I was driving.
Pretty sure no one would believe me, but that is what happened.

It sounds like their hiring standards have changed, and not for the better

 

Pretty sure this one is done, but who knows. Recently a trainee called the cops on their trainer because they thought the trainer was trying to poison them. Trainer and trainee were at a truck stop for the night with the truck idling when there was a knock at the door. It was the sheriff telling the trainer he was called out for a welfare check. Apparently the student smelled the truck regen, thought trainer was trying to kill him. Anyway student got left behind with the sheriff.

 

I would’ve pulled over and threw him right out of the truck

 

I brought along a CO alarm and asked the shop to check for an exhaust leak once, but the problem turned out to be I'm too old to stay awake all night like I used to.

 

It's easy. Pay people more. .44c a mile is a joke. Not being bumped to .49c IMMEDIATELY after training is that Will Smith slap heard round the world. People talk.

$23 or less an hour to live in a base t680. Ummm no thanks. God Bless those that currently are with no other options.

 

Holy crap. You know... When I got that call from recruiting about becoming a trainer shortly before I left, I actually considered it for maybe a half second. Then I remembered that I like being by myself and that I was planning to leave Millis soon and spared myself from experiencing all of this craziness.

So what did you do with Blunt Dude? I would've put him out of the truck immediately and then called Greg to explain why.

 

One of the things I like about my current job is not having to fuel. Not having to go to some craphole Pilot and wait for the flip flop wearer to finish their 30 at the fuel island, not finding out the DEF dispenser doesn't work on my lane, not having to deal with their ap crashing again are all benefits worth losing the reward points. So when I was going by the one close to home I stopped in to see how many points I had left and bought some stuff to use up the remaining points. I checked the receipt and found that even though it's been months since I got fuel there, I've still got 2.5 shower credits.
