I currently drive for DTI, the company has been a great change for me over where I started my career at Prime. We have activity pay, 6 month raise schedule with yearly company-wide raises, fairly good benefits package. The people in your DC will know you by name. Some of the cons I’ve found is with all dispatched being built by hand, there can be some mess ups with timeline, just have to make sure you catch it. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know more.

One-Fifth of the meat sold in America is produced by Tyson. I don't think they're going out of business anytime soon.
From my understanding none of their trucks have an APU, that would be a deal killer for me.Chinatown and Alley Dock Thank this. -
I just call them as I see them:
Tyson reports 3rd qtr loss of $417 million

We have a fairly liberal idle allowance <30, >60. Fuel ups are done at the DCs unless you take a long run with no in-house fueling in between. Fill it up and go, generally no fuel saving planning. Last I heard the company is in the process of testing EPUs in the fleet. We also do have bunk heaters. ADD - I should add, my manager told me a few days ago that my DC is pretty much done hiring for a while as they’ve reached employment targets for the year and turnover is low. Getting on here can be difficult. Way it was explained to us, out of every 100 applicants, 10, are interviewed, and 1 is hired. They can be picky and don’t hire just to hire. They’ve also never laid off an employee in their history.Last edited: Nov 19, 2023

I would be seeking employment at the new DC in Manchester.Chinatown and austinmike Thank this.

I just called Tyson Foods and they said there were no openings in Tennessee for student driver, even though it is posted on their website.
Chinatown and austinmike Thank this. -
you just found Tysons weakest link. The I.T. department. It’s absolutely dismal. You could be looking at information from ten years ago. It’s kind of embarrassing…austinmike, Alley Dock and lual Thank this.

@Alley Dock --
Beginner driving positions are disappearing...left & right.
It's NOT just with Tyson, either.
The market for brand new drivers is tight -- & getting tighter.
If you want to start CDL "class A" driving anytime soon -- talk to either Werner Enterprises (for dry van or reefer), or Knight Transportation (for dry van or reefer).
Werner is still hiring aggressively in the southeast.
Werner -- no exp reqd -- hiring in TN -- paid training for rookies
-- OR --
Knight Transportation -- still hiring novices in TN -- paid training provided

The above suggestions were made in the event that DOT Transportation does not hire you...and/or is not currently hiring in your area.
-- LAlley Dock Thanks this.
