That's how our barn pays us in CA.
On-duty not driving is $15.50/hr
15-min breaks hover around $22-$36/hr on some arbitrary and unpredictable sliding scale
Then mileage pay for driving.

 

So basically you're getting paid non stop?

You could say that, from the time we clock in to when we clock out. Every on-duty item is paid in some form or another, except lunches obviously.

 

I think I need a job like that. But I do generally like where I work.

Yeah I have to give credit where it's due. If only the affordability of the state came down lol.

All we need now is Southeastern and Estes (or basically the “movers and shakers” of the LTL world) to call dibs on a terminal or two and everything will be divvied up! L O L

 

That's what I made at XPO as a new driver in spring of 2021. Guys with a little experience were doing much better, and I'm sure everyone's pay has gone up since then. I left for personal/family reasons, but I didn't feel underpaid.
