Your initial post possibly gives the impression that you have already completed CDL school, and are looking for your first trucking job.

If you have NOT yet signed up for a private truck school, you might want to consider paid training with a carrier who will then give you a job.

On the pro side, guaranteed job.

On the con side, you'll be on the hook for the cost of the training, whether working it off or paying it off directly.

In the event you get fired for too many incidents, or causing too much damage, you'll be unemployed, possibly unhireable as a driver, and STILL have to pay back the company. Just from what I've heard, most seem to be charging around $7000.

There are plenty of threads on this forum written by people who went to their local CDL school and can't find a job.

I don't see why it should. Why do you say this? It might be challenging, baffling, and occasionally frustrating, but that could be said for most things that are rewarding, both financially and emotionally.

When I left there I was getting around 2500 miles a week, after taxes I was bringing hom a little over 1000 a week. Rarely some weeks were more.,.some.were less. All depends on the loads and whether u are going home that week but that was an average.
May does have a salary ,.seems.it.was and still is 150 for every day on the road. Like.I said a.great place.for experience then move on after a year or so, the $$$.just isn't there.
