What is the easiest and cheapest method to adjust the doors on my dry van? It’s a 2019 Utility and the doors have some slop at the bottom latches. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Shims or washers between the latch pole mounts and the doors to push the doors in tighter against their seals. Loosen the bolts but take them out one at a time to add washers so as to not have to fight with the weight of the pole. If you make some shims out of sheet steel you will have to remove the mounts and pre drill the shims. Thats how we did it at the trailer repair shop. Hinges can be done the same way but most of the time they stay tighter then the latch end of the door does.

If the pins are worn into the hinge, just replace them. They're 20$ and 10 minutes each

Sorry, thought you were talking about the whole door. Where is the slack in the latches? Is the whole lock rod moving?Rideandrepair Thanks this.

The rod itself is good in the brackets, there is play at the latch on the bottom of the door.

So, can I put a spacer plate behind the rod bracket, which would move the door into the frame?Big Road Skateboard Thanks this.

Gotcha. So your door doesn't shut as tight now?
-
It’s a utility, the doors don’t shut for #### to begin with
