You have to be 21 to even get a nonrestricted CDL - otherwise you can only drive intrastate, and no hazmat.

Ok , just wondering because i've heard that some states wont let you have a d/t endorsement under 21. I looked in the state dmv restrictions and it says the only restriction for Colorado if you hold a K restriction CDL is what you had mentioned. I'm really hoping I can obtain a d/t endorsement because I need it to run with a harvesting crew.

    I got mine when I was 18, so I don't think you'll have a problem.

Great thing to have at your age. When you turn 21 Hazmat would be great to have also if you plan to make trucking a career - actually great to have anyway.

I always like to see young guys asking good questions.
