I think Swift is garnishing my paycheck making me pay for a tow.

Go to a sign shop, have them make Leased to Wal-Mart on magnets for your doors, using the Wal-Mart logo, big enough to cover the Swift stuff. Slap'em on when you come home along with a temporary blue stripe out of painters tape. Hey, it just might work!

Swift paid out 50 mil in dividends last year, I think they'll be ok. I talked to my driver leader and he said the terminal leader made the decision to pay it. I go hard for them.

So because Swift makes great profits you get to leave their very expensive equipment wherever you feel like it? I'm glad it worked out for you but you were very irresponsible to leave that unit in an unsecured place. They should have fired you and made you pay for the tow.

From his previous comments it seems Swift has been fine with him parking his truck at the Walmart during home time before.
Maybe that is why they are paying for the tow?

And if Swift is OK with him parking there, it is not irresponsible on the drivers part.

Did you scan in the receipt for the tow expense? Swift will absolutely charge you for that and then, assuming they approve the expense, they will reimburse it after they receive the receipt. If they do not have the receipt they definitely will make you pay for it. I'm not saying they definitely will approve it either BTW. You will also need to get a PO number from your DM.

Your wages are your wages, I would think anyone trying to garnish wages would need some type of court order. The tow was the cost of doing business. Glad to see you are getting paid what is owed to you.

I’ve always known that if I park somewhere and I get booted or towed it’s going to be my responsibility. The trucking company isn’t out here with us on the road and they don’t know where we’re gonna park the truck. It’s our responsibility to double and triple check and make sure we don’t come back to a truck that’s been booted or worse, towed off. Parking at any. Walmart is iffy at best. Much less leaving it there over an extended weekend. You’re probably gonna have to eat this one and I know it’s not fun but it’s just the way it is. Just like most trucking companies won’t pay your scale tickets either.

I guess people have a hard time with reading comprehension, so I am posting what the OP said earlier.

Problem solved, his TM approved it and all that stuff.

Swift does pay for scale tickets, if you scan it in with the other paperwork.
Pretty sure you can get payroll to use your Comdata card directly with the CAT app so you don't even need to scan in the paper scale ticket.
