I work for a small grain elevator cooperative that has a feed mill. Our feed truck is a 2017 Freightliner M2 with a 6.7 Cummins and a 5 speed Allison automatic behind it that we have owned for 3 years. Over the past 2 to 3 weeks it has started momentarily dropping power if it was given more than half throttle. When the issue first started it was due for a service, so the first thing I did was change the fuel filter and air filter which did not improve the problem. I had a mechanic hook up his computer and he watched the live numbers while I took it for a drive. At an idle the command fuel pressure was around 16,000 PSI. While driving, during the loss of power the command pressure would drop to 7,000 for a half of a second and then go back to 16,000. It continues to do that every second or two until you let off the throttle to the point that the truck is barely accelerating. The computer did not show any active or inactive engine code and it still does not. The only active fault has to do with the forward monitoring collision system but we have had that fault for whole time we have owned it so I don't believe it's related. The feed mill is busy this time of year and we are not in a position to send it to a shop to have them diagnose what is wrong. Anybody have any ideas, or dealt with this issue before? Any help would be much appreciated!
