if the spring shackle pins are worn they can effect tire wear, and giver you a clunking sound when you turn.

Worn kingpins will never cause tire wear at the outer shoulder. The wheel will always tilt inward at the top with worn kingpins resulting in the inner shoulder wearing faster. Chances are you need a full 3 axle alignment. Most shops don't do dump trucks, or dump trucks simply don't get done because most dump truck heavy suspension is non-adjustable, or coarse adjustment only. The right front steer tire will always wear faster on any truck because the crown of the road forces the truck off to the right. The right steer tire is subjected to more stress than the left steer to keep the truck going straight. Because of this you still have to rotate your steers side-to-side to equalize the wear on the tires. Also because dump trucks are on/off road they are easier to knock out of alignment. You should at least rotate your steers and look into getting a full alignment. Just be careful. Like I mentioned before, some dump truck style suspensions can be very expensive to do an alignment on simply because they are more labor intensive to make the adjustments.

yea i think the shop told me that it was like 150.00 to aling. my truck...on the spring shackles the one on the pass. side i use to be able to grease it now i cannt and i took the fitting out and cleaned the fitting and took a small wire ran in to the hole to see if it had some hard grease and nothing but i still cant grease it..now when i do turn to the right sharp it makes a loud pop like stated in the post above..so ill check the shackle bolts and bushing on the pass. side...the tire i know will wear more on the pass. side but this thing is killing the tire it has the 425/22.5 and it will eat about 3/4" of the tire tread off the outside only and the driverside wears in almost even just a touch on the inside on the driver tire...this tires are not that old and only have about 40,000 miles on them but they are not the best tires i guess either.geostar i think is the name...i plan to check on the mech. man this yr..it had summito on it when i got it they where good tires....thanks

put a jack in between spring and frame and jack it up. this will give u some slack and it may take some grease.also u can c how much slack the hanger has.the poping is the pin is dry and when is tries to move side ways a little when u turn its not free.

Worn spring pins, or dry won't cause that tire wear either.

hay thanks guys so heavyd do you think the problem is the aling. like i said i placed a jack under the frame and jacked both tires up off the ground and stuck the spoon in to the holes and it has no movement in the tires at all it all tight...i will check the pins out in the springs to see if they or worn..and im not sure if you mean the outside of the tire when you say shoulder...but if so yea thats the place that i have wear on the pass. side it wears the first 2 grooves down and on the driver side it has just a little wear on the inside but almost flat cross you have to really look to see the wear on that side....now my ???? when i get the pin in the sring right do you think that a good aling. will get my tires to last a little longer...also i see now that i should move them from side to side more that i have (only do it once on the tire before replacement). i need a set to last a little longer than a yr and a half..shouldnt they????

Just reread the post and another thought is it probably is just offbrand tires and the one worn possibly did'nt cure well.I'd get an alignment and put a good quality tire in it's place. Also I'd stay clear of the shop that said your kingpins were gone and u checked yourself and seen they were fine.

what type of rear suspension do you have

i would check the rear suspension bushings for wear weather its air ride or a mechanical suspension
