It's Understandable Why There Is Violence At Truck Stops

I'm no BillyBadAss, couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper sack, but I ain't gonna set there more than 5 minutes without knockin on the guys door.

If I saw him inside, I'd beat on the door.

The reason shippers, receivers, and other drivers think they can act and talk to drivers like they're a POS, is because some let it happen.

Call them out

 

cutting the seal is better....let him deal with the BS of a possible theft.

 

I like the Sinclair and AM Best stops on my routes.Seems to be more professional drivers around those.Ive never seen anyone holding up others at the pumps,even at places with only 4 pumps.

 

Yeah, back in the day Buddy. But my experience was about the only place that bothered to actually check the seal was Walmart DC's. Seemed kinda silly to me.

 

Me too. Only have had one similiar experience, at least at a fuel island. Pulled in behind a truck, (i picked the Peterbilt cause I assumed he wouldn't hang out) waited 5 minutes, no movement, went to the truck and knocked, nothing.

Looked through the windshield, nobody.

Went to the fuel desk, nobody.

Back outside to the door, truck was running BTW. Knocked again JIC, nothing. Door unlocked, hopped in and pulled it forward.

I pulled up, fueled, paid, backed out, never saw the guy.

what community? The problem is that half of the drivers are too stupid to know what is right or wrong and the other half doesn't want to get involved.

Can you imagine if some drivers just act on one or two issues how much better this industry could be.

Yep, the reason for all the disrespect is we don't even respect ourselves to hold drivers accountable for what they do.

Exactly, when I fuel the service truck up, I have to in the truck lanes and if there is a truck behind me, I make it as quick as I possibly can, usually 10 minutes at most, if there is an issue, I move the truck somewhere out of the way. The same goes for my drivers, it is a policy to move up, stay with the truck unless you have to piss your pants and get back to it asap. None of this crap about getting food, playing with the fuel desk girls or any crap like that.

 

I used to buy these, but now I’ve accepted that the majority of this industry is thoughtless these days.



A guy I used to haul cattle with pulled into a small fuel stop running with one of his buddies. There were 2 fuel islands and there was a truck parked at one pump. He fuels and moves out of the way so the other truck could fuel. They both get done and still no movement. So Cody circles around and pulls up behind the Cascadia, other trucks moves over and backs in in front of it. They pay for their fuel and tell the cashier they’re walking across the street to get some food. And the video of the guy losing his mind about being blocked in is one of the funniest things I watched in a long time.

 

I avoid the big TS when I can. If all the islands are full always pull up behind a truck that looks like a local or and OO. There a video I saw where a guy put cow manure on a fuel island squatters door handle. Made me laugh I think grease would be better. If that happened enough they would get the hint.
