Very interesting case although don't think it was so much about the camera's per say but rather about who had access to the film. For me personally while driving I don't have an issue with any camera's filming me, as I have nothing to hide, most won't film unless you have a mico sleep, or the company askes those tasked with monitoring the camera to start it up and film more often usually if a driver has had a few issues with sleeping while driving, again this is for ones own personal safety not to spy on you. The Interesting part about that camera that was filming "the couple" is only the company tasked with the camera monitoring has access to the film and in fact the office staff cannot just look in on the peep show, now unless they were doing so while driving which would be a safety hazard, can't see how anyone would have access to it. If I was taking a break when the truck is stopped with air brakes on then and only then would I ever attempt to cover the camera over, as far as i'm concerned this is my private time so no I won't tolerate the camera being on, while I'm driving I have no issues. I'm sure most companies would also before they hired you inform the driver of the fact that the company uses onboard camera's, so read the fine print, once you sign the document this means you've granted them access to do so. They should by rights give you a copy of the contract under certain contract law it is not binding unless you have received a copy which is a loophole one could use if they want to avoid any repercussions.Atwt and bryan21384 Thank this.

It seems most drivers don’t understand how the cameras work. First, the camera must record 24/7, otherwise, it would only catch an accident after it happened, it can’t go back in time and record what happened leading up to the accident. Second, while the camera does record 24/7 it does not save anything unless there is an event like an accident, sleep detection, distracted driving like holding a phone. Third, the camera can be viewed at any time as well as audio which is very intrusive.
It may be their equipment but this is also our private space which is very unique. Sadly, most drivers will never speak up or lawyer up hence why they continue to get away with this behavior.LtlAnonymous, Atwt and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
I suspect something more happened in the Kava session that doesn’t want to be made public………….

Dang they got ahead of the curve lol. Well you're doing well at KB and it works for you, what works for one driver may not work for another driver.Lonesome Thanks this.

I would absolutely not work for an employer that required me to install an app on my phone.
I don't think you guys realize just how much your apps spy on you. -
Every time you park next to someone that app must pick up someone else’s phone
but I guess if they see the same number over and over they figure something is up -
Apps are not necessary. Your phone is constantly sending your GPS location to your cell provider. It also tracks your whereabouts via the actual cell towers. Face it, you're being tracked at all times.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
