I was charged on February 2 2019 but my disposition date was on June 8 2021. Which one will they look at? I have applied to roehls because they denied me last time so I want to see if they'll not deny me this time.

It depends on what's on your MVR. If you can get ahold to that, you'll see everything you need to know. I would think 2019 is the date you would need to go by, but I would recommend you getting a copy of your MVR and let us know what's on it..meanwhile, apply everywhere and see if one bites. If one bites, take what you can get.Recklessbuthopeful Thanks this.

First things first, though.....go get your CDL. If you can't do the company paid, go to a school. After you get your license, then we can see what the options are. One move at a time.Recklessbuthopeful Thanks this.

I got a hold of my checkr report it says charge date Dec 31 2019 file date Dec 31 2019 Offense date Feb 2 2019 disposition date Jun 8 2021
The charge is reckless driving in Arizona -
So Jun 8 is when you finished paying fines and such? I'm thinking if you got charged on the 19th that should be enough time. I'm really not for sure. Maybe someone else can chime in....I'm trying to think who I could summon
@Ridgeline I'm gonna tag you back in because I need to be educated here. If you were to hire a driver, and you begin your vetting process, and the driver has a past violation, maybe not necessarily the magnitude of reckless driving, do you and your insurance provider look at the charge date or the disposition date?Recklessbuthopeful Thanks this. -
Deposition date. That's legally when the charge happened in the system. Like I had charges against me 25 years ago. But due to 9/11 it took almost 5 years to go through the legal system. It got really complicated because they actually thought I was possibly tied to the 9/11 attacks in some way because I had attended flight school at a nearby flight school to Embry Riddle where the hijackers had gone, and I quit flight school less than a month before the 9/11 attacks. That threw up all kinds of red flags to the FBI.
My probation and such began after my release. I actually got a high security badge at the local airport after release from prison. Weird stuff. But she (she being the lady issuing the high security federal badges at the airport) said the date showed on my background check was my plea date, not the date of the actual offense which was my senior year in high school. I didn't plea out until after graduating from college.Last edited: Dec 26, 2023
tscottme, bryan21384 and Recklessbuthopeful Thank this. -
My gues the 2021 date is the date that counts. I know from past conversations that if a driver gets charged on one date, but the conviction is final on a later date, the conviction date is the date used by companies to make decisions. That's why I say the 2021 date, the disposition date, is important.bryan21384 Thanks this.

I appreciate you clearing that up for me. So OP needs to wait just a little longer before trying to start a trucking career.

Did you fly at Phoenix East in Daytona? I worked at the FBO next door to them when I went to Embry-Riddle.
