Agreed. Anyone with half a brain checks the gun themselves to be 1000 percent sure it's empty. If the director or whoever says they can't check it would be told to find a different actor and refuse.

 

This gun was a prop, they should have removed the firing pin.

And why was there any live ammo on set in the first place?

 

These were the first things to cross my mind when this whole saga began as well. It obviously wasn't an accident IMO.

Plenty of range shootings go unprosecuted. Not to mention all the shootings where a kid was playing with a parents gun. Or even just idiots being idiotic.

some of what you mention, are the reasons why many gun ranges and clubs forbid such use of any type of firearm.
