The more I read your posts, the more I think you are one text message away from a stroke.

 

Why? Because I don't agree with the modern moron trucker mentality?

Funny thing is...I'm a really relaxed guy and it takes a lot to get me pissed off...But that doesn't mean that I won't speak my mind!
I'm not part of the generation of softies that think that you have to be nice to everyone no mattter how stupid they are.

If you act like a fool I will treat you like a fool.

Anyone that texts while driving a truck is a fool!
Anyone that allows themself to be distracted to the point of weaving all over the road is a fool!
Anyone that uses a computer or types into a qualcomm while driving is a fool!

If you don't like it...So what?

 

So if there is a problem, let's look to the government to pass a new law to solve it????
That's not what we need.

 

The facts is if we don't police ourselves, the government will do it for us.
Anyone that looks at this sanely will agree that a driver with 80,000# behind him or one with only 3,000# has no business texting while driving.
If there wasn't a problem, no one would try making a law against it.
Quit complaining about something that makes sense and pick a fight with real idiot laws!

All I am trying to say is the government is NOT the solution to all of this industry's problems.
They only make things worse for us.
I challenge any of you to find ONE SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM OR REGULATION the government ever came up with that can be SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for good results!

 

Why would anyone have a problem with a law to ban texting while driving a CMV? Really? Wanna talk on your cell phone while driving? then buy a headset!!

 

Sadly there Dave...We have brought this on ourselves through lack of common sense! Any ######### can see that it's stupid to look away and read a text or a book or a newspaper while driving and yet every day I find myself passing idiots all day long that can't seem to figure this out and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS WEAVING AROUND LIKE A DRUNK!

I HATE the government! I also HATE the fact that we (truck drivers) as a group are so ########## stupid that we invite these kinds of abuses by government and that as much as I HATE being regulated into oblivion because of the actions of some people...I am to the point where I welcome laws like this for what little good they will do to eradicate the problem!

 

My point was all government is good at is making a bigger, more expensive bureaucracy that you and I have to pay for!
All their rules and regulations, no matter how good they are intended, fail to accomplish anything except cost Money and create more hoops to jump thru.
A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER needn't be told not to text and drive, when to go to bed, or not to speed. We should, as professionals, already know that!

But what would be your solution to this problem?

They made it illegal to drag them out of their truck and beat them sensless...
Too bad really because that would be fun AND theraputic and would probably solve the problem fairly quickly.

But since that is not an option...Tell us what you would do to stop this very unsafe practice!
