The CB radio was a valuable tool , FOR SURE cellphones made the CB not important.(SO THEY THOUGHT) which has made driving for everyone so much more dangerous , has also pushed out many Drivers from using the CB.
The CB is an important tool. It warns people, it brings people together, and I would bet money that it saved many lives when most Drivers used them. It is also easy to see why so many gave up on CB radio, in the beginning of cellphones it must have seemed like an amazing gift. It took time for us to realize all of the good things it was taking away. Most importantly COMMUNICATION with fellow Drivers. Bad weather wrecks will always happen. However after the initial wreck , if everyone were using CB's that pile up would not happen. . Progress is not always a good thing, that CB was a part of Trucking that needs to come back. If enough stuck with it, and used it , I think the communication could help. If anything can be done to unify Drivers, (because we are not going to see the Truck Driving Profession go anywhere soon), diesel driven Trucks are here for a LONG time. , eTrucks will not take over for decades, they were used as a scare tactic, but . yeah, Drivers could benefit coming together and feeling a bond by using a truly helpful tool like a CB radio. The older Drivers remember how important the were/are but we can't force anyone to use them. I believe they can be brought back. I also believe not only would it make for more communication between Drivers, it can help Unify Drivers.

A couple years ago we had a Child Protective Services caseworker forget a child in her back seat. Not her child, but one of the abused/neglected childred she was supposed to be responsible for. And she didn't get fired or arrested.

Started about 20 years, dumbing down of society, internet and smart phones. Made everyone kind of selfish and not give a #### about anything. My 2c anyway
