YES!! I was right!!! When you first told us where you were going for orientation I googled it and searched for trucking locations there. I saw Fred Wrecks, no offense, and said that is where he is going. I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget and there you are! Best of luck John and I feel you have made an excellent choice for your sunset company.

A fresh bag of Thorntons donuts is pretty close....not that I would know and if you tell my wife I will disallow any knowledge of our friendship....

My understanding with FedEx Ground is everything is dropped on the yard. When you hook your set, if a trailer is at the dock, only the yard jockey gets the trailer.MidWest_MacDaddy, Jamie01, JoeyJunk and 4 others Thank this.

I enjoy the topless beach in Capri. I kept my shirt on though. All those tattoos that sailors and other low-class people get.

I owned one back in the 70's....probably doesn't count huh....

Some things are hard to get out of my system. It will be 19 years in May since I retired from that part of my life. Still drives my wife crazy....JoeyJunk, dwells40, JohnBoy and 1 other person Thank this.

It all depends on the yard. Like when I go to Troutdale I drop both trailers in the pull thru spots. When I go to my home depot I drop the rear, put the dolly away, and park the lead.Last edited: Jan 2, 2024

Could be different rules for different terminals but when my partner was driving for a contractor she would have to pull trailers from a door once in a while. And sometimes she’d have to wait on them to close a trailer out and would end up leaving a couple hours past her gate time.
Once you get going and you’re switching with the same drivers all the time I suggest swapping phone numbers. That way you can keep each other in the know if there are problems or either of you are running late for some reason.
She worked for two different contractors over the course of about 8 years, and she’s still qualified and fills in for one every now and then. It’s definitely not perfect, but there’s also a lot less to deal with than your typical driving gig. The only reason she stopped doing it full time is she went back and got all of her nursing certifications current.surf_avenue, MidWest_MacDaddy, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this.
