Yes I am :biggrin_25523: Nuts I am leasing this truck from... Guess who... CRE. I know I am getting hosed (young [just not that young], dumb [more like unaware of the shaft I would get], and full of ... well still full of that). I had one mech tell me the low MPG is most likely the cause (not for sure though) and would not back that up with anything or to anyone else ( said one fellow employee got fired when said the same thing to another CRE driver and CRE complained and threatened to not approve any more repairs through that shop). When I get into warm weather 65+ my MPG's do go up a couple 10ths but that is it ( still low). I don't idle in cold weather because my bunk heater will cook me if not carefull. But in the summer I will have to because my truck is black ( heats up F.A.F.) and I have a black lab pup that gets hot fast also. Thanks for everything guys I will try to see if I can figure it out. I'm still fighting to get this governor turned off.

CRE governs their lease trucks at 61 mph wow :biggrin_25526: But no that big a drop is probably EGR-DPF related. 5-10% fall off in winter(both wind, and slower driving during bad conditions) is normal not 20-25%.

This is by far one of the dumbest responses to a post I have ever seen on this forum. Let me supply you with some fuel milage facts.

Based on 100k/yr with fuel at $3.00/gl lets run the numbers and see if you still believe your statement..

Using the OP's numbers of 8mpg and 6mpg

    100k / 8mpg = 12500gl x 3.00= $37,500/yr fuel cost
    100k / 6mpg = 16666gl x 3.00= $49,998/yr fuel cost

Thats a difference of $12,498/ yr in profits UP IN SMOKE!

lol. I was hoping we wont get there. I mean It sucks to argue with waterheads, but here we go.
Let me enlighten you... New Age Truckers... Lets start from beggining.

Here is few facts to you to consider:

    1. Only complete ignorant would use 8mpg vs 6mpg scenario. 8mpg is totally unsustainable. You could use 9mpg as well, your stupid math would be even more impressive to other morons like you who buy that crap calculations. However is easy to understand where it comes from - trucking "media" is full of this BS manipulations. So, dial it down to 6mp vs. 7mpg, OK? What do we get? We get $6,500 a year difference. Agreed?

    2. Now, lets break that 6.5k per 52 weeks. We get less impressive number, don't we? $125 per week it is, right?

    3. Now I'm asking you question. How much is that? Is this much enough to care when you run $200,000 equipment and working hard as horse compared to other occupations? Well, it depends on how much you really take home. Because if you clear $200 per week after all you expenses like you lease-purchasers do, that $125 is 62% increase. That is alot. But...

    4. But... How the f you are going to survive whole year (which is your calculation based on) of maintenance and breakdowns working for peanuts, you idiots?
