I have a 94 W900L with a 1LW 3406E Cat and where I park I do not have the ability to plug the truck in to run the block heater. So my question is would a 3500W generator be big enough for that task? Was thinking I could plug it in to the generator for an hour or so before firing her up. Temps will be around zero. Thoughts?

Yes a 3500 will more than do the job a little 2000 would also do the job they are normally 1500 watts or so. An hour would help but two normally does the trick unless the trick has been sitting over a weekend then it might take a little longer

An hour is pretty well worthless. At 0° your gonna wanna have it plugged in for about 3-4 hrs minimum. Get you a Honda EU2000i, perfect for just a block heater n barely sips fuel

I used to park my truck where no electric, and my small gas generator did the trick, but I pointed the exhaust at the oil pan and warmed it up, as well. Didn't take more than an hour, I think.

I rented a Honda Eu2000i from Home Depot, plugged in for an hour and that got my n14 started in 5 degrees weather. But yeah, it's better to plug it in for longer if you can.
3500w is more than enough, block heater only uses 1500w

I can usually hear the water boiling in the oil cooler when it’s plenty hot. Any more is a waste,

I would consider getting battery warmers to allow the batteries to have an easier time starting the truck.

They make 2 block heaters for my engine, the highest wattage being 1500. I have in years past used my Honda 2000 generator to warm it up with no problem….

Most stock trucks here are dealer spec'd with both a block heater and an oil pan heater. The pan heater is nice because it gets the oil flowing nicely ASAP.
