That’s a cool old cabover @Pacemaker334 yes, what I call a tub is a half round. There was a guy from down here in south Florida that ran an old transtar pulling for US Bulk for years running all over the country, always put a smile on my face to see that old iron still making history.

Hey here’s another neighbor! I’m on the west side of Hutch close to Sterling.IH9300SBA, Pacemaker334 and NightWind Thank this.

tub can be a half round but I've never called them that. Fruhauf made a tub trailer with the ribs on the out side. I never cared for them as I have seen too many turn over and there can be issues with the welds along the ribs. Just an FYIIH9300SBA, RockinChair, Pacemaker334 and 1 other person Thank this.

Is this what you're referring to, @NightWind ? This is what I have always heard people call a "bathtub end dump."

Hauling salt in the northeast brings back bad memories. I remember the time I loaded for JK at Port Wilmington off the outdoor pile (wet). Had to deliver it to a PennDot barn in western PA. Of course being western PA in the winter it was blustery cold. Don't let anyone tell you salt doesn't freeze oh it will ! I was scared to death I was about to have my first "side dump"..
You know where I'm at now, they offered "bucket or hopper" ?? I'll take hopper thank you very much..
Don't even get me started on Mt Morris, Lansing, or Watkins Glen. Pack a lunch you'll be a while waiting to load. Loading salt at any of those places can be an all day event.
Be safe out there.Last edited: Jan 15, 2024

Oh that’s actually not far from me at all! End dump? What truck?
-
I do portable buildings but have been watching the end dump work around here. I drove for a number of years and now I’m “one of those office guys” doing dispatch for a company in Texas. We cover the majority of the state delivering portable buildings and tiny homes.
