1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

odd that you ask because i was back in 1993. Had it happened about 5 months later,I probably would not be driving now.
Yes it was in a big truck. yes i did go to jail.yes I was able to have it expunged.
NO i have not attempted a similar act again.
NO I will not ever drive a slow truck nor have i ever driven a slow truck.
NO i did not attend a truck driving school,I started driving w/a Ga. class 5 way back and would duck going under overpasses.
    NO i could not back.
YES I asked for help backing on my very first trip.
YES I assist any driver that asks to this day.
NO I do not laugh at them as most super truckers do on the cb.Those that actually laugh more than likely attended a driving school and drive slow trucks and have had to ask for help.OH.I forgot. They got that help from their trainer and are now training EVEN THOUGH they have only been driving for less than two years.Remarkable individuals and even better big company that promoted that driver to trainer. The new trainer always asks his trainer for the help as they maintain contact. They converse mainly via qualcom as they drive 62mph in the middle lane.It is referenced as "multi-tasking". I am more than happy to pass them in the far left lane which is how i observe their "multi-tasking". I type in awe of that driver.
YES I read many comments from truckers that fit the preceeding statement and absolutely fit in that catagory. They also know everything about anything inquired even if that inquiry is not applicable to them.
Excellent question to get me on my soapbox for unknown reasons.
    Thanks-

Why do you need a 70 mph truck? Texas has a 80mph road, lots of roads out West that are 75. Not always for trucks.

Drivers that need a 70mph truck can't keep the left door shut, or has loads with not enough time for a legal run.

Back when it was 55mph I had a 72mph truck. Got my first speeding ticket at that speed in a 18 wheeler.

Did I mention I got a log violation the other day for 66.1? The truck is a 65mph truck! Logging error. Half of the day I was in Commiefornia with the cruise set on 58.
