Now do me a favor and look up the other 49 states. Then look up individual municipal, city & county ordinance. You're always welcome to sue anyone in court, including the police.
Court is your democratically granted right to pursue the truth and seek reparations.

You make the claim, you back it up. You show the other 49 states. I showed you that in my state, you CANNOT boot a vehicle EVEN ON PERSONAL PROPERTY without signs fitting exact specifications on size, color, wording, etc.
YOUR OWN STATE has the same law LA has, YOU CANNOT BOOT ON PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHOUT PROPER SIGNAGE.
Wisconsin Legislature: 349.13(5)(b)2.
You CANNOT tell me you want me gone then prevent me from leaving. You have no right to restrict my freedom of movement, that's known as false imprisonment. THAT is why I would sue you if you tried to do that. Sue you for false imprisonment.
"Any person who intentionally restricts another's freedom of movement without their consent may be liable for false imprisonment. False imprisonment is both a crime and a civil wrong, like other offenses, including assault and battery. It can occur in a room, on the streets, or even in a moving vehicle."
https://www.findlaw.com/injury/torts-and-personal-injuries/false-imprisonment.html#:~:text=Any person who intentionally restricts, even in a moving vehicle.
Think about it like this. Take the "commercial vehicle" part out and put "any vehicle" in its place. Do you think you have a right to run out and put a boot on any vehicle that pulls into your driveway and stops? Of course not. Commercial vehicle or not, you can't do that. You can tell them to leave, but without signs out you cannot boot their cars.
I live out in the country and me and my neighbor are the only ones for miles that have a concrete driveway and he just had his poured a few years ago. For decades before that, I was THE ONLY CONCRETE DRIVEWAY on this 4 mile long road. Before I put my fence up, I had dozens of cars turning around every single day in my driveway. I can't go put a boot on their car for them doing that. Some of them would stay in my driveway a few minutes before turning around and leaving. I can't boot their car, I had no signs saying so.Last edited: Jan 19, 2024

Reading is fundamental, see previous post & thumbnail. "Unless law states otherwise."
People get towed/impounded all the time. Once cited your legal recourse is to pay the wrecker service and sue whoever you feel happy to. When the judge asks you what reasonable excuse you have parking on private property or not obeying official signage, for example "no parking between these signs between 7am & 5pm" just cite your youtube law degree to them.
Personally i loved the people i used to cite for a municipal parking violation. In the example above, just because they lived in an adjacent multistory apartment complex and didn't want to walk an extra block to the parking garage, felt it their right to obstruct space that semis needed to blind alley dock at a local business during said businesses hours.
Then i loved it when they would leave their broken down vehicles unmoved for months especially in covered municipal parking garages until you ran their plate, sent them correspondence to move abandoned vehicle and then impounded vehicle and sent a 15 day to auction notice. Boo hoo excuse here boo hoo i was out of town there.
Isn't it just much simpler to be reasonable. I think we all agree that this particular boot bandit is an opportunistic thug.
Maybe since you didn't want to expand on the other 49 States and thousands of other jurisdictions you could enlighten us on how and why or if castle doctrine applies to the curtilage around your domicile or business. Especially when this powderkeg of a booting issue could easily turn into cowboys "skinning that smoke wagon and seeing what happens."Lonesome Thanks this. -
You're making a straw man argument, look up what that is.
I said you can't be towed UNLESS THERE IS PROPER SIGNAGE. Read what I write. I never said anything about parking between no parking signs, citing a youtube law degree or anything else.
You seem to be like everyone else. You think law school teaches you law and that if you haven't gone to law school, you can't possibly know the law. It doesn't and you don't have to go. There are MILLIONS of laws on the books. Law school is a couple of years, tops. You think you learn every law of every state, city, county, etc? Of course not. All law school does is teach you how to be a lawyer in a court room. I've had a lawyer tell me what law school is. Classes about "litigation" "types of defenses" "cross examinations" or "bankruptcies" etc isn't going to teach you individual laws.
I once called a lawyer about the law regarding our leash law. He said "I don't know, I'd have to look it up." I told him "I already did, according to Louisiana revised statute blah blah blah it states that nowhere can a dog run free in our state unless its in the enclosed private lands of another." He said, "Why did you call me? You obviously know more about this than I do." And that was from a lawyer WHO HAD A LAW DEGREE and LIVED IN THE STATE where I was asking him about the law in question.
Just like the airplane mechanic school I went to didn't teach us how to work on everything on every plane out there. No, it taught us how to look up the correct procedure in the maintenance manual.
You don't need a law degree to understand the law or know it, you only need to be a lawyer to practice law for compensation.Last edited: Jan 19, 2024

You're citing Wisconsin personal property law as it pertains to items in a secured vehicle.
Again reading is fundamental. This thread was about them booting your truck on private property not your physical self. Did the boot company place said boot device on your flip flops?
Look it's clear you're in over your head. Thanks for the lesson on the 4th amendment i guess. I'm sure somewhere in youtube law land someone limiting your physical movement inside of a vehicle that's moving is the same as your truck being booted and hauled to an impound lot. Unless you're implying that you're in the sleeper which we never clarified. I would think at that point if they chained the doors shut with you inside you make a valid point.
#1 - Them stopping in your driveway is different from them parking (what this thread was about) in your driveway. Assuming unattended. I would believe that if someone left any motor vehicle in your driveway, commercial or not. That it would be towed somewhere and impounded until requisite fees were paid for your error.
#2 - Furthermore the end of your driveway is commonly not yours. It's a public right of way that you maintain. No crime of trespassing is committed by simply turning around. If however they restrict your movement in your personal vehicle down the driveway that you have a reasonable expectation of traversing to go wherever you need to go and they wont move, call the police. They will be happy to assist you and move their vehicle for them if they so insist. Signs or no signs. Common sense often prevails until some youtube lawyer is getting tased for ignoring lawful orders.
"Hey Siri?" What is a lawful order? -
I mean, at the end of the day, dude doesn't appear to be operating a legal operation with the consent of that wal-mart or others. The rest of this is sort of immaterial.
Gearjammin' Penguin, REO6205, 2Tap and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wait till Walmart bans truck parking at all their store.
-
I don’t even look at Walmarts for truck parking anymore. Even when working on Walmart dedicated accounts it was a crapshoot.gentleroger Thanks this.
-
I can't wait.....got a date for this to happen?
-
I've had this happen to me a couple of times at Walmarts. Each time I saw someone pulling up and looking around. Every time they left. It was either the police badge in my left hand or my .45 in my right. Surprisingly enough they never called the cops on me.... OTOH, I have had Walmart Asst Managers come out and ask me to leave.
