IMG_4941.png IMG_4940.png I’ve gotta go pick up a truck and when I get there I want to put new filters on it. 7FB engine and it appears that the filter/water separator, might be a cartridge element? If not correct me and could you give me the part numbers for these? The filter may be a 1R0749(Cat) but not sure on the other.

Should be a screen in the bottom pic. Break the 15/16 hex on top loose, then spin off like a normal filter.
I clean the screen with brake cleaner. There’s a spring and washer in the bottom.

In this circumstance, can the primary be changed to a, “spin on” separator filter by changing the filter head? Did they or do they offer a modification to change this filter head to a spin on style?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Cat has a primary filter base 280-2698 that you should be able to use, might require different fittings for the hoses. Then use primary filter 256-8753

mile marker 27, Oxbow and PSM379 Thank this.
