Got a D60 14l about a 2005 model. Low power.
Truck is set to 600 hp. With old stock turbo truck felt slow and weak vpod deleted in ecm and the actuator is pushed all the way against the adjuster screw. swapped the turbo for a new oem unit adjusted the vpod acutator so that it was also maxed out, Doing this greated a loud hissing and would just blow black smoke just touching the pedal, I backed it off a little to where the hissing is gone and no black smoke but the truck is even weaker then the old turbo. Any advice is appreciated?

I do not know that maxed out is the correct answer. Something about used a nickle as a gauge?
D is a bad word around here like mad X spouses ( deleted and divorced) Maybe adjust it the same as the old one?
Why did you thank the turbo was the problem? Have you had a good scan tool put on it? -
Customers truck. He wanted the turbo swapped out thinking it was a problem. Clearly the old unit was fine but he wanted it changed so we did.
The old turbo actuator was set at max against the limit screw, old and new limit screw are the same position so didn't see them being different. Pulled the actuator back down a little and made some more power but definitely not 600hp, yeah got diag link and only get a turbo speed code which has been there since Customer purchased the truck.
I really think I need to know how to set the actuator, or maybe turn the vpod back on. -
throw it away their garbage put a 702 on it.
Magoo1968 Thanks this.
